"I always enjoy turning ideas into tangible objects. Sometimes there’s the limitation from the handmaking process, and I integrate the technology to make the process easier and more effective. In the last two years I have been introducing acrylic glass into my metal work and beyond, and in the last year started using it as part of my design. I often design the template digitally and cut them out with a laser cutter. Since each of my pieces are made of multiple identical layers, using the laser cutter has made my time in the studio much more effective.
I would say at first I was hesitant to introduce the usage of technology into my work, and personally felt it was contradictory to the making process. However, I started enjoying the digital designing process, and I could foresee the bigger images of the work."
