Toys, discarded electronics, Arduino
12" x 8" x 14"
"My sculptures combine traditional craft techniques, discarded materials, and technology to examine rites of passage and to examine the relationship of the individual to society and the natural environment. Everyday materials are used to make a satirical comment on the nature of play and work in the face of rapidly changing technology and a culture where the “must haves” of today become the obsolete trash of tomorrow.
Nike is an interactive sculpture that was assembled from old toy parts and a CD player then combined with an Arduino and sound board to create sound and movement responding to movement."
