Oil on steel
18" x 18"
"Being that I make work that addresses technology, it is only fitting that I use technology in its making. Like many artists, I employ digital cameras. Beyond that, I use vinyl cutters for masks, a laser engraver, and I write software that allows me to make marks I simply could not make otherwise. My painted metal surfaces are often etched with imagery I make in design software. These are paintings made with old materials—oil paint, egg tempera, silverpoint, and etching. The tools used to mark and manipulate the media are both traditional and technological."
